showing up together
what helps people show up, and what other climbers have chosen to share. no scores here, and nothing is ranked.
best practices for showing up
the handful of things that make showing up easier for almost everyone. these come from the method, not from whichever note got the most hearts.
start small enough to begin
make the promise so small it feels almost silly. a tiny thing you actually do beats a big thing you keep putting off, because the doing is what builds the habit.
anchor it to a real moment
pin your hop to something that already happens: after coffee, before the shower, once the kids are out. a habit sticks to a moment far better than it sticks to a time.
make the first action obvious
leave the shoes by the door, the book on the pillow, the file already open. if you have to hunt for the starting point, that hunt is where most days are lost.
plan a way back before friction shows up
decide now what a hard day looks like: the smallest version that still counts. deciding it in advance means a rough day costs you one hop, not the whole climb.
change what is around you before asking more of yourself
move the thing that gets in the way rather than trying harder against it. willpower runs out. a room that helps you does not.
reflections from other climbers
lines people chose to share. nothing here is ranked, and nobody is keeping score. you can add one from your own journal any time.
